Now Don't Laugh!

Okay..Okay..we had a "moment" but far more so for Lisa I think! She was sititng at the table teaching Jason and she looked over and Jason now has 2 dark hairs on his upper lip where a mustache will come in. Nausea overflowed her! Our little boy is growing up. There have been other pre-pubescent signs..but this was most striking!

Things are ok here. Time is slow..the church thing didnt seem to come through for Russ....back on the saddle again! We know God has just the right job for him.

Lisa will be meeting with Hufman Baptists' staff next week to discuss the details more of helping with some mission outreach this summer! That meeting is April 11, 2006 at 9am CST

Jason has mustache's growing and doign well still in school. We are praying still about whether to enrol him or not in public school...They start AUGUST 1, 2006 but get out May 31, 2006.

Have a happy day...we wanted to share that little thing with you...wow!

We Found a Church Home!

Hi everyone!

Hope you are fine. We haven't written in a bit since things have been so busy lately! Funny how the more you get settled...the more you have to do.

We did finally decide on a church home,Huffman Baptist Church near the neighborhood that I grew up in. It is a very missions minded church and we all liked it which was a MIRACLE ! We went forward today and officially moved our membership there. Pastor Tim Lovett has a preaching style that is similar to Taylor Field, our former pastor, but also more "African American" too. He is Caucasion which is ironic. I will send you the website when they get it updated. He has already put us to work! I will be hopefully doing some contract work for them this summer orgainzing and implementing a daycamp IF the staff approves and Russ is in Choir singing his heart out and even Jason has a "speaking part" in the Easter program. We are all happy with that.

PRAYER REQUESTS

Russ applied to a job at a local church as their grounds/landscape person. This would be a GREAT job including good benefits and a good salary. This church is VERY big and can afford to pay their staff well. Please pray as they look over his resume this week.

Pray that the staff at Huffman approves this position for me. It is a contract job so that will be very flexible for me and Jason.

Pray for us as we figure out where we are going to live so that we can place Jason in a public school OR continue to homeschool him. There is the possibility of some long term work with Huffman and that would be VERY flexible for us to home school him since he is doing so well!

We miss you and love you. We have had our eyes opened to the many, many needs here in Birmingham and we are seeing God open some doors for us to continue to serve Him here. Same needs as NYC, just a little less people! hehehe

Great verse Jason and I were memorizing this week..." Obey the Lord and things will go well for you...follow him and you will be saved" Jeremiah 38:20 We are reminded daily that "obeying God is a lot of the times hard BUT is it always the right thing"......we pray for you in your journey with God. We pray that you will experience Him in even deeper ways this Passover/Easter season!
