We remember when we met this guy...we thought he was the cutest person in the world. We still do....
For the last 2 and half years, we have been to Hell and back to be quite honest. This little boy had some MAJOR issues and it took not only our immediate family by surprise, but our extended as well...no one really knew how serious things were until he got more settled and familiar with us. Then, all hell broke loose and for a while, there was a lot of patching holes in the walls, scrubbing off writing on the wall, throwing away broken toys, sending him to the laundry mat to wash the sheets he had messed up on purpose, tantrums, rages, time outs, groundings, rules, consequences, spankings(YES, WE DO SPANK FROM TIME TO TIME) and much more.
All the diagnoses, therapy, dr visits, MRI's , testings, medications and teacher parent meetings......all the criticism of our parenting choices, tears, money and time.....all of it...all of it... was worth it last night in therapy when our son FINALLy began to express in a very articulate way, his anxieties, fears and troubles. We were all amazed. Jason is beginning to communicate his hurts and fears and we are so, so, so amazed.
We know that it has been because of the Lord putting his healing hand on our son....and the commitment of many people who believed that we could do this parenting thing with this little guy. We know that because so many have been praying, we are at this stage of healing and we are so filled with joy. We see the hand of the Lord every day in many ways but last night was something else! It has ALL been worth it. We wouldnt trade a moment to be quite honest if this is the result! The name Jason means "healer" and we know that because of his own healing, he will one be able to "heal" others with the testimony of Gods Greatness in his own life.

There will be setbacks and regressions and we will deal with them as they come, but this is a BIG step and we are rejoicing so much today!To God be the Glory for the GREAT things He has done! There is ALWAYS hope!
