Memorial Day 2007

We had a great weekend together as a family this past weekend. On Friday, we took Jason to the symphony on the grounds(a smaller version of Philharmonic in the Park in NYC). We took a picnic and the theme was Made in America..everything from Gershwin to Copeland to Disney to TV and Movie themes! It was fun...a great breeze happened upon us and was great and then.............guess what folks...puberty has hit the Rose family..for the whole concert....someone...who will be 13 soon..sat and moped the whole time, sighing loudly so that EVERYONE could see how bored he was(oh boy!). That has continued throughout the weekend and this week BUT we think we are handling it better than we thought we would..(-;
Anyhow..Saturday we went yard saling(I usually get up early and go by myself but Russ and Jason joined me that day) and then to Shrek 3 which was hilarious!
Sunday and Monday we rested and cleaned out closets etc and did homey tings! That was nice more than anything. We thank God for holidays....

We also remember our servicemen and women who, while we were enjoying the symphony(by the way, we had a flyover since we have TWO bases here in Montgomery which was really cool), they were doing what they need to do...no matter what your political beliefs, we all have to agree that we have a great group of people who voluntarily risk their lives each day there for us. God Bless them all and keep them safe.
