First Christian Concert

We went to the boys first Christian concert last night. Now I have to tell you...for someone who went to EVERY Donny Osmond concert when I was young and quite a few concerts over my adulthood....this was the TRIP of all trips!! First, the concert is on the lawn at the Riverfront which is this huge grassy area with an amphitheater...really cool sound!! BUT,,the ticket says that the gate will open at 5pm. Well, as we did in NYC, we decided to take a picnic dinner and eat there thinking that this would be a great time for a nice spring concert/picnic. Well,we get there and were told by some "wanna be" police officer security guards that we had better turn back around and go eat elsewhere because all we could bring in food wise was 1 beverage per person. So we go back up this ramp and sit in the middle of this concrete island where a very loud generator is going and sit on a bench and try to gooble down the food trying to convince the boys that we HAD to eat..no eating was allowed...oh except all the JUNK food that they were so obviously trying to sell inside!!
So we eat, we have to gulp so water down so we use one of our water bottles to do that with a little left in the bottle for later! Well, we hurriedly finish so we can get back to the gate by 5pm(it was 445pm) to get a good place. We get up there at wait...and wait...and wait...and wait until about 530 when the female "wanna be" comes back and informs the crowd that all the women have to line up on the left and the men on the right...so we get Russ and the boys(and a friend of theirs) to the right and that leaves me to the left. Well...we wait...and wait and wait....
and finally someone at 550pm comes and tells us that the boy band that is opening and no one really knows doesnt want anyone to hear them warm up wants them to wait to let the crowd in until they finish(PA-LEASE!!!)so we wait and wait and wait...at 620pm...(the concert was supposed to start at 6pm)we get let in and they tell us that they are going to check our bags and as we go through the line..I get up there, female wanna be checks my purse and then tells me that my half drunk bottle of water has to go in the trash because she tells me that it cant be opened....no one had informed us of this before!! I calmly asked her why and when I stepped aside to talk to her privately, she almost attacked me saying " YOU CANT TAKE THAT BOTTLE IN THE RIVERFRONT AREA. PUT IT IN THE GARBAGE!!" IF YOU DONT WE WILL HAVE TO ARREST YOU!!! PA-LEASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSE!!!
Well, by this time, Russ stepped over there and again I said, please tell me WHY I cant take my water in..I have kids who will need this....she stared at me and pointed her finger to the garbage and so I threw it in.
So we get in....the boy band who no one knows came on and were silly and then they left and THEN Matthew West came on and he was really cool. But...then it started to rain...and rain....and rain!!!! BUT...we stayed and it was fun playing and dancing in the rain and watching the kids do these CRAZY, funny moves!!
